I’ve been thinking about the word cop-out lately.  In a lot of ways it might be one of the biggest threats to humanity in this modern world.  I know a few people who don’t subscribe to this epidemic, but many more who do.

I love documentaries.

I find documentaries to be incredibly enlightening into the nature of human beings.  Here’s a definition that I found online for the word ‘documentary’.

documentary: a film or TV program presenting the facts about a person or event

Here’s my definition.

documentary: a film or TV program that SPINS the facts about a person or event

I say this because it seems like very often documentaries present a single-purposed set of facts that describe an idealized vision of the world that avoids the difficult, real-world difficulties presented by the real world.
