10 Reasons I Love Playing Music
- When you play music you don’t have to think about anything else that might be happening… for better or for worse.
- Playing music is generally regarded as cool.
- You don’t have to be perfect.
- Adopting a new instrument is like adopting a new personality. You can be anyone you want to be. Bill the banjo player… Sal the sax-man.
- You have an immediate bond with other musicians.
- Nothing feels better than playing an amazing live show.
- Even when you make mistakes it’s still the best thing in the world.
- Playing music seems to give you a mystical quality that non-musicians seem to find fascinating. Or maybe musicians are just really cocky (or maybe just me).
- Music forces you to be present and in the moment.
- Music has got to be about the best thing in the world, and I’m glad to be a part of it.
